Lip Injections 60mins $650+
Lip injections can be used to enhance your natural beauty by providing border definition, increasing volume, correcting uneven lips, or refining lips that have developed fine lines and wrinkles due to the ageing process. Through the use of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that attracts and binds water, dermal fillers offer a non-surgical treatment option to enhance your own natural contours. Our Cosmetic Injectors aim to provide natural looking, long lasting results that work in harmony with your own unique facial features.

Lip Injection FAQs

What are lip injections made of?

Lip injections are performed with dermal filler, which is a gel-like substance made with Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is found in your skin and helps keep your skin plump and hydrated. The HA we use for lip injections is typically soft and gentle, and is infused with lidocaine (anaesthetic) to help minimise discomfort during and after treatment.

How long do lip injections last?

Lip filler usually lasts between 6-12 months, depending on what dermal filler is used and the patient. Generally speaking, the denser the filler is and the more deeply it is injected, the longer it will last. Therefore, as we typically use a softer filler for lips and the injections are quite superficial, injections to the lips generally wear out a little faster than other areas, such as cheeks.

Is there any downtime/aftercare that needs to be followed?

We recommend the following post lip filler

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours post treatment (light activity like walking is fine).
  • Avoid excess heat e.g. steam rooms, saunas or heated exercise classes for 48 hours post treatment.
  • Ice can be applied to the lips if required to reduce swelling and bruising.
Is there any discomfort involved?

The lips are a very sensitive area, so some mild discomfort may be experienced during the treatment. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the area 15-30 minutes prior to treatment to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible.

Will my lips bruise post treatment?

Bruising is always a possibility when having any cosmetic injectable procedure as the face is very vascular. To reduce the risk of bruising, it is recommended to avoid any blood thinning medications (e.g. NSAIDs, fish oil & omega 3’s) if safe to do so, as well as alcohol, for 24 hours prior to treatment.

How will my lips feel post treatment?

Immediately post treatment, your lips may feel swollen and tender. For the first 48 hours, it is normal for your lips to feel very firm due to a combination of the filler and welling, which will gradually soften over a period of two weeks.
