| Effective for mild to moderate types of acne, the Acne Laser Facial is a safe and effective treatment for the reduction of breakouts, redness and inflammation. The CoolView handpiece is used to specifically target active acne lesions, destroying the sebaceous glands and bacteria, and reducing oil production to minimise future breakouts. Genesis V+ is also incorporated, which is used to gently heat the upper layers of the skin to decrease redness and boost collagen production. Treatments incorporate a hydrating cleanse, non-ablative laser spot treatment & resurfacing, hydrating hyaluronic acid sheet mask, complete with a personalised cocktail of treatment serums and SPF. How does the treatment work?
The Acne Laser Facial utilises both the CoolView and Laser Genesis handpieces on the Cutera Excel V+ device to deliver optimal results. The CoolView handpiece is used to target excess oil flow within any visible pustules on the skin to speed up the healing process. The Laser Genesis handpiece then assists in reducing the appearance of post-inflammatory pigmentation and redness, as well as reducing pore size.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required will vary from person to person, depending on the grade and severity of acne. A series of 6 treatments at 2 week intervals are usually recommended for optimal results, however, additional treatments may be required for severe cases.
Is there any downtime?
There is very minimal downtime associated with Acne Laser Facials. It is advised to avoid strenuous exercise, or any other activities which may put excess heat into the skin (e.g. saunas, hot tubs, etc.) for 24 hours post treatment.
What does the treatment feel like?
The treatment itself can be divided into two sections. The first half of the treatment (the CooLView handpiece) involves individually spot treating any visible pustules on the skin, which can feel quite hot as the laser targets the oil in the lesions. The second half of the treatment incorporates the Laser Genesis handpiece which is very relaxing. The Laser Genesis treatment is often referred to as a sensation of warm rain drops on the skin as it gently warms the deeper layers.
What areas can be treated?
Acne Laser Facials are most commonly performed on the face; however, the back can also be treated.
