Leg Veins                                                                                                                  30mins $260

If you have previously tried Sclerotherapy treatments to reduce the appearance of unwanted leg veins, then our NEW Cutera Excel V+ Laser may be for you! The new gold standard for vascular lesions, the Excel V+ can safely and effectively treat vascular imperfections such as spider veins and leg veins with minimal discomfort, faster treatment times and fewer treatment sessions. The laser delivers targeted pulses of light energy which cause the blood to coagulate within the veins, eventually destroying the vessels which are later reabsorbed by the body. It is a non-ablative laser, meaning that the skin will stay intact and therefore, you'll experience little to no downtime post treatment. The number of treatments required will depend on various factors such as the size of the veins, the thickness, and the colour. A customised treatment plan will be discussed in your initial consultation which will provide an indication on how many treatments you may require, and pre and post care instructions.

Leg Vein FAQs

What is involved with treating leg veins?

Prior to commencing any laser treatments, we require all of our clients to have a consultation with one of our Laser Therapists to assess the veins of concern in order to ensure they are suitable for treatment. The treatment itself usually takes around 30 minutes – your Laser Therapist will treat as many veins as possible during your treatment session. The treatment itself utilises the Cutera Excel V+ CoolView Laser handpiece to target the blood within the veins, which will then reduce their size and appearance.

How does the treatment work?

The treatment works by utilising the laser machine to target the blood supply within the vessels to coagulate the blood which will either reduce the appearance of the vessels or remove them completely, depending on their size.

How many treatments are required?

For optimal results, a series of 2-3 treatments at 8-week intervals are recommended to achieve a 70% reduction.

Is there any downtime?

Immediately post treatment, your veins will appear raised and red, like small ‘cat scratches’. Due to a histamine response produced from the treatment, some clients will experience a slight itching sensation immediately after, but this will settle within a few hours.

Are there any post care instructions that need to be followed?

There are minimal post care instructions that need to be followed post treatment. It is recommended that strenuous exercise and excess heat are avoided to minimise excessive blood flow being stimulated which can potentially lead to the treated vessels opening up again. Gradual, relaxed walking is recommended to keep the blood circulating post treatment.
